New York, NY -- "All we need is luck" were the words of Alex Faust before he climbed into his #94 Hy-Vee Chevrolet on Sunday for the ERCO SuperCar Series race. That wish for a weekend without trouble seemed to be working, where on lap 6, he took the lead from Leonardo Baiao. Soon after, though, he would spin out off the bumper of alex Gerasimchik. Faust later said that it was his fault that the crash occurred. After going a lap down and then getting it back, Faust placed himself in a position to get back into the top 10. Then, just after halfway, the #33 of Parker Hammons spun in front of Faust, collecting him and throwing his car into the wall hard.
After the race, Faust was in dismay: "We had such a great race car, a top five one at that. I just don't know how something always happens. This is the third wreck this year that was none of our doing. Salem, Nashville and now this - all someone else collecting us. It is incredibly frustrating." Though he did not finish the race, Faust moved up three spots in the points standings to 11th. He started the year 33rd.
ARSA ProCup: Webb Survives To Win Darlington(From ARSA Press Release) Brian Webb tamed the lady in black Saturday afternoon winning the Mountain Dew Southern 175 and the first Fast 5 race. Webb lead the most laps after starting 3rd. The race would be a wild one all day long, with accidents at the end of the race putting Keith Black in 2nd 2 laps down and Frankie Stickley in 3rd 3 laps down. Of the 12 starts only 4 cars would finish at the Darlington Raceway. (Editor's Note) That is why they call that track "Too Tough To Tame." For Webb, it was his third career victory in ARSA, the third in four races.
Sportsman: Sinclair Takes First Win In First Start
Joe Sinclair, driving for Keith Black's revamped ARSA effort, took his first ARSA checkered flag, winning at Atlanta last Friday. Only 12 cars were entered into the race, but series officials are hopeful that more will begin to enter once schools end for the summer. GRX Plans to enter a part time effort with Wilson Athletics as the sponsor.
