Richmond, VA -- Frankie Stickley dominated the race for a second week in a row, but a late race incident with Patrick Fogel ended his domination and allowed Alex Faust and Roger Nebelsick to duke it out for the victory. Both were looking to be the first two-time winner in the ASRA National Championship.
Monday night's race set more than one record for the National Championship. It had a record number of cautions, 7, record number of leaders, 8, record lead changes, 15, and a record for slowest race at just over 111 MPH. It was also the longest race of the season with 160 laps. Crashes and engine failures took out eight cars from the race, including fourth place points contender Ken Rork. Rork maintained his points position but lost ground to the leaders.
Faust led 48 of the 160 laps, but fell short of the 67 Frankie Stickley led to recieve three bonus points towards the championship. Next week the NCS goes to Milwaukee (Wisconsin State Fairgrounds) in what promises to be a fast paced race at 125 miles.

It wouldn't have happened if I was there.
