Madison, IL -- This season has been nothing but bad luck for Alex Faust and the #94 Keith Black Racing team. That is, until this weekend. Riding on the heels of an engine failure while leading at Pocono last week, Alex Faust was able to turn around and post a third place finish at the ERCO Gateway 150.
James Taylor was the class of the field the entire race, only surrendering the lead during pit stops. Taylor won the race as it ended under caution with his owner, Scott Kocienda, finishing second. It was Taylor's fourth career ERCO win and his ninth top five finish of the season.
Faust and Taylor were able to avoid a massive 13 car pileup on lap 95 of the 120 lap race which damaged contenders Tyler King and Jeroen Anema. For Kocienda, it was the second time this season that he has finished runner up to his #83 car. "It is such a relief to finally be able to put up a good finish for once," Faust commented later, "It's been horrible that we've run so well and been caught up in so many things that we can finally get out of a race weekend with our heads held high."
