When you talk about achievements on the internet in terms of years, that truly defines milestones. Sim racing has only truly been on the web for less than a decade, and the peak of its existance was only two years ago. I have the privelage to declare this URL officially one year old on August 16, 2005, and it was a very long road to get to this point. I'll get to all the thank-yous and whatnot at the end, but in the meantime, here is the story of this website.
During the summer of 2004, Brian Schoenburg, then owner of GRX Motorsports, decided to close that team. Being a driver for the team, and being very loyal to that organization, I decided to pick up the team. At that point, I had no teammates, and it was a single car organization. I had already been experienced in some coding, as I was running the new Logos@OTE website.
As many of you know, Logos@OTE did not last long because OTERacing itself collapsed a few months after we started to revamp everything. It was a great point of transition. Nextel had come off of the #13 car and Propel had just come on. ASRA's future was uncertain and I was just starting an ERCO career. At first, the idea of a website was only to play around with code, explore and try some things out. The first story was about a test session at Pike's Peak for the ERCO SuperCar Series (You can read that article here), and every article up to November replaced the next one, and no archive was created.
Relaunch of the Website
The design that you see now was concieved in October, 2004. On the top and on each side are seperate HTML files, shown the same on every page so that content on every page did not differ. But enough on the technical aspect; it was a major accomplishment to arrange the whole website together.
Media
The videos that I produced over 2004 became very popular, and there had to be a media section on the website that would reflect that. To date, I have made over 50 videos, spanning back to February, 2004. The first league video was a 12 minute highlight clip of the ASRA SuperTruck Series Las Vegas race. My voice has gotten deeper since then, and I've moved on to call the DMP Semi-Pro series and I'm persuing other endevours in the sim broadcasting field. Had you all not pointed out that I was a great broadcaster, that wouldn't have happened

There have been fewer updates, and that trend will unfortunately continue. While it is fun to keep a website up to date, I have my priorities set in academics and athletics. This fall, this website could be in different hands as I debate whether or not to keep it going. I don't want this website, my legacy, to succome to the ruins of abandonment. I don't want to sound ominous, but there may be a second editor to this website in the near future, you never know...
Finally...
Ok, this is where I make all the thank-yous and such: First off to Brian Schoenburg for starting the team back in 2003. Thanks to all the GRX drivers that have graced this team over the years, including my current teammates Kevin Bartelt and Kenny Baum Jr. Thanks to Drew Glover, for being a great consultant even after he left sim racing. Thanks to Ken Rork, who has been my go-to guy for a substitution and a great friend. Thanks to Frankie Stickley; much of my league experience wouldn't have been there with out you. Finally, thanks to Roger Nebelsick, who I still feel is responsible for me being in sim racing to this day. And thanks to you, the person who comes to the website to read this. I truly appreciate you coming, and being one of the over 8,000 hits this website has gotten. I've sure enjoyed this year, I hope you have, and you can take a look at the year gone by in a photo album called "One Year In The News" by clicking on the link.
